JOHN J. CUST, JR.

Jack Cust was born and grew up in Trenton, New Jersey and graduated from Cathedral High School. He attended Seton Hall University on a baseball scholarship and earned his degree with a BS in Accounting.

Jack and his wife, Faith, moved to Hunterdon County in 1975 where they initially lived in the Hunter Hills Apartments in Flemington.  Jack obtained his CPA while working for a regional accounting firm and after several years he opened his own firm in Flemington.  He also served as treasurer for the Borough of Flemington for two years. This experience provided him with first-hand knowledge of Flemington’s tax related matters, infrastructure, annual budgets and expense accounting.

During this time Jack and Faith developed a strong affection for the community and made many lifelong friends.  They decided to raise their family in Hunterdon while Jack focused on continuing to build his firm, Cust, Dori and Benick, CPA’s.

Known as a results oriented, tireless worker, Jack took pride in growing  his accounting firm as it established relationships with many leading businesses in Hunterdon County. Over the years Cust Dori & Benick became well known throughout the metropolitan area and in 2010 they merged their firm with Wiss & Co, one of the top 10 accounting firms in NJ with offices in NYC, Livingston, Flemington and Lehigh Valley, PA. Jack and his partners understand the importance of being a good corporate citizen and the many ways to “give back” to the community. Jack has served as a coach, board member and trustee for a number of local and statewide endeavors and in 2002 was named Flemington/Raritan Business Leader of the Year.

Over the years, Jack acquired vast experience as an investor, builder and developer. His track record includes projects such as the Somerset Patriots, The Palace at Somerset Park, Team Capital Bank and his two favorites, HealthQuest and Diamond Nation, which have thousands of members and participants who frequent these facilities and produce a tremendous economic impact to the Flemington area. Diamond Nation has also helped thousands of players earn and procure millions of dollars in scholarships and professional contracts.

Jack employs more than 1,400 people and has developed over 1,000,000 square feet of quality venues for a variety of enterprises.

Kevin teaches “English as a Second Language” (ESL) at Hunterdon Central, is the Head Coach at Immaculata High School, and is the Director of Baseball Operations at Diamond Nation.  He is married to his wife Karina and they live in Hunterdon County.
